We are honored to be one of the selected artists showcasing our digital art projection mapping at the Light to Night Festival. For this project, we drew inspiration from the classic 80s toys that brought so much joy to our childhood. These toys, known for their vibrant and colorful designs, sparked a sense of nostalgia that we wanted to reimagine through our art. Our primary muse was the iconic waterful ring toss game and other transparent toys with see-through shells, celebrating their playful yet intricate design.
The Light to Night Festival is an annual urban art event that transforms Singapore’s Civic District into a dazzling celebration of creativity. Running from January 19 to 28, 2018, the second edition explored the theme of "colour" through visual, literary, and performing arts. Major cultural landmarks and parks became breathtaking works of art, including a multimedia projection show on the façade of the National Gallery Singapore. The Padang transformed into a vibrant picnic ground with a Festival Food Street, and cultural institutions extended their hours on weekends to create immersive, sensory experiences that brought the magic of colour to life.
